There’s no denying the bad blood between Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson and Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.
The tension began shortly after Johnson was hired over a year ago. He took a shot at LaFleur during his introductory press conference, stating: “I kind of enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.”
Things escalated during the playoffs earlier this year when Johnson hit LaFleur with a cold, quick handshake after the Bears eliminated the Packers from the postseason.
In the week leading up to Sunday’s game, the handshake was what most people talked about. So when Sunday’s game ended — a 31-7 Packers win — all eyes were on the two head coaches as they marched toward each other after the game ended.
The two shared a brief handshake, only this time it was LaFleur who booked it out of there quickly, leaving Johnson looking awkwardly at the camera. Fans were quick to leave some strong reactions on social media about the tense moment.
“Wow…. So much said with not even one word. I forgot this was a get back game for LaFleur for what Ben Johnson said,” one fan noted.
“That handshake had more tension than a thanksgiving dinner,” another added.
“That handshake had everyone watching! The tension between Matt LaFleur and Ben Johnson is REAL. Sometimes the postgame moments tell their own story, 🏈” a third fan replied.
“I like the camera look Ben gave us,” one user quipped.

...
“Ben Johnson is the only one that has had some kind of problem btw, true little brother syndrome,” remarked another user.
“Ben Johnson doesn't say a word and then looks directly down the camera lens like Michael Scott. Perfection,” joked one fan.
“LaFleur said nothing needed to be said and then delivered the lesson,” another fan said.
Johnson and the Bears will get a chance at revenge when they rematch the Packers in a Week 16 matchup on Christmas Day.
