Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday called on Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (Retd) at Lok Bhawan, Itanagar, and formally invited him to grace the reception ceremony of the Holy Relics of Bhagwan Shakyamuni Buddha at Namsai on November 14, 2026.

The sacred exposition is being organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, from November 1 to 20, 2026, and is being seen as a rare spiritual occasion for Arunachal Pradesh, a state with a deep-rooted Buddhist heritage, particularly in Tawang, West Kameng and Namsai districts.
According to official information, the Holy Relics will be brought to Arunachal Pradesh for public veneration and will be placed for public darshan at three locations, Tawang, Bomdila and Namsai. Devotees will get an opportunity to pay obeisance and seek blessings, with the exposition carrying a message of peace, compassion and harmony.
The DCM described the exposition as a moment of great spiritual significance for the people of the state.
During the meeting, the Governor and the Deputy Chief Minister also held discussions on various developmental issues pertaining to the state and explored measures to further strengthen ongoing welfare initiatives for inclusive progress of the people.
The relics of Lord Buddha, regarded as highly sacred by Buddhists across the world, are rarely taken out for public exposition. The proposed darshan in Arunachal is expected to draw large number of devotees and monks from across the state and neighbouring regions.
