Colombo, Oct. 21 (Daily Mirror) - Two spill gates of the Deduru Oya Reservoir have been opened by two feet each, releasing water into the Deduru Oya at a rate of 4,200 cubic feet per second, the Director of Irrigation (Water Management) said.
Residents living along the Deduru Oya downstream of the reservoir have been urged to remain vigilant and closely monitor water levels in the river.
The public has been advised to take precautions as water is released from the reservoir.
