Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement in principle with Harry Kane over a contract extension that would keep the England captain at the German club until June 2029.
Transfer journalist Michael Bridge reported the development, which was corroborated by Fabrizio Romano on X on Thursday, with the key terms covering salary and contract length already settled.
The documents have now been sent to lawyers for final checks and approval, with the deal expected to be signed as soon as possible. Kane has also given his personal approval to the proposed extension.
Romano wrote: “Bayern reach a verbal agreement in principle with Harry Kane over new long term deal until June 2029.
“All set on salary, length and documents now in lawyers’ hands to check, approve then sign as soon as possible.”
Kane’s current contract runs until the summer of 2027. The proposed extension would add two years to his stay at the Allianz Arena, keeping the 33-year-old at Bayern into his mid-30s.
The striker joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a club-record transfer in 2023 and has enjoyed an impressive spell in Germany.
He has scored more than 150 goals in around 154 appearances across all competitions, won the Bundesliga top-scorer award in each of his seasons in Germany and contributed to the club’s domestic title successes.
His performances for Bayern and England have also put him among the leading contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
