The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is scheduled to promote nine chiefs on the Balogun line of the Ibadan traditional chieftaincy hierarchy.
A member of the House of Representatives and Aare Onibon Olubadan of Ibadanland, Akin Alabi, made this known in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday.
He stated that the promotions, expected to take place on Friday at the palace of the Olubadan, will see the chiefs advance to the next ranks in the traditional succession system.
The chiefs listed for promotion are Chief Lateef Adetokunbo Akintola, from Aare Ago Balogun to Ayingun Balogun; Chief Nureni Adebayo Akanbi, from Lagunna Balogun to Aare Ago Balogun; and Chief Kayode Afolabi Kadelu, from Oota Balogun to Lagunna Balogun.
Others are Chief Adegboyegba Taofeek Adegoke, from Aare Egbe Omo Balogun to Oota Balogun; Chief Monsur Abiola Olatunji Arulogun, from Gbonka Balogun to Aare Egbe Omo Balogun; and Chief Taiwo Ige Akande Odunlami, from Aare Onibon Balogun to Gbonka Balogun.
The list also includes Chief Remi Babalola Ogidi, who will move from Bada Balogun to Aare Onibon Balogun; Chief Adenrele Lekan Salami, from Ajia Balogun to Bada Balogun; and Chief Adewale Abass Kadri, from Jagun Balogun to Ajia Balogun.
“Congratulations are in order to the following Olubadan-in-Line chiefs on the Balogun line who are scheduled for promotion tomorrow by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I,” Alabi said.
He added that the position of Jagun Balogun would become vacant following the promotion of Chief Kadri to Ajia Balogun.
Alabi congratulated the chiefs, wishing them well as they advance in the Ibadan traditional chieftaincy hierarchy.
