Neha Swami recalls Arjun Bijlani’s ‘say yes right now’ proposal, says he didn’t give her even a sec to think

Mumbai, October 14 (IANS) Actor Arjun Bijlani’s wife Neha Swami recently opened up about her love story with her actor husband on Puja Banerjee’s podcast.She recalled how the actor asked her to be his girlfriend before he had even begun his acting career.Sharing details of their first meeting and the beginning of their relationship, Neha revealed how Arjun made a sweet promise that eventually won her over.Recalling their first encounter, Neha said she had come to Mumbai for a holiday and was staying at her aunt’s house. She met Arjun about an hour or two before she was due to get her visa. At the time, he had not started his acting career. When they met again, he asked her where she was from and what she did. Neha told him that she had come to visit her aunt and was not doing anything professionally.Neha recalled that Arjun later got her phone number through a friend and called her with a rather direct proposal. “He says, I want to be your boyfriend. You have to say yes right now,” she recalled.Taken aback by his insistence, Neha asked him what he did. Arjun replied that he was not doing anything at the time but added, “But if you say yes, I will work for you. I'll do everything for you.”Neha said the sweetness of his words eventually convinced her to agree. However, she added that Arjun was determined to make things official immediately.When she asked him to give her a second to think, he insisted that she had to answer then and there. Once she agreed, he declared that they were now girlfriend and boyfriend and told her, “From now on, you'll call me baby.”Arjun, who appeared in a video on the podcast, meanwhile, spoke warmly about his wife and their enduring relationship. Reflecting on their 22 years together, the actor said, “We have been together for 22 years. And I think she's an amazing wife.”He further praised Neha for standing by him during the early days of his career, saying, “The most amazing wife for supporting me, being with me when I was a nobody. And she still loves me as much as she did 22 years ago.”For the uninitiated, Arjun and Neha tied the knot in May 2013 after dating for many years. The couple welcomed their son, Ayaan, in January 2015. Over the years, they have often spoken about their relationship and the support they have given each other through different phases of life.
