Isak finally living up to price tag as Liverpool patience rewarded

THE Media Liaison Committee has mourned the death of journalist Patson Phiri.

In a statement, MLC Chairperson Henry Kabwe said Phiri, as secretary of the Press Association of Zambia, played a pivotal role in the formation and operationalization of the committee.

“He will be particularly remembered for the roles he played when the media fraternity united to fight against media bills that could have stifled press freedom in the country,” Kabwe said.

Phiri worked for the Zambia Daily Mail, Times of Zambia and Mobi TV before joining the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Co.

Kabwe said Phiri was also a dedicated member of the World Press Freedom Day organizing committee where he served on various committees.

The committee expressed heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fellow journalists.
