Guardian Life Insurance Limited has introduced ‘Healing Call’, an initiative that connects people with mental health professionals. By calling the number of Guardian Call Center 16622 and pressing 8, callers can speak openly about their mental stress, worries, anxiety and other personal concerns with the professionals from Kaan Pete Roi and The Purpleline. The service will be available from 3PM to 3AM every day.
The initiative comes as mental health remains a major public health concern in Bangladesh. According to data from the National Institute of Mental Health, around 30 million people in the country suffer from some form of mental health condition. Due to social stigma and fear of being judged or criticised by others, many people hesitate to speak about their struggles or seek the support they need.
Healing Call is designed to provide a safe and judgement-free space for those who may not have someone they feel comfortable turning to. Through the service, callers can express what they are going through and speak with mental health professionals from Kaan Pete Roi and The Purpleline.
The initiative is part of Guardian’s broader focus on health and wellbeing alongside its role in providing financial protection. The company is using its existing call center, app and website to make mental health services more accessible.
Guardian plans to expand the initiative further in the future, building on its collaboration with ‘Kaan Pete Roi’ and ‘The Purple Line’. By bringing together more organisations and professionals working in mental health, Guardian aims to create a more integrated support platform that can make essential mental health assistance accessible to more people across the country.
