The Denver Broncos’ offense faces issues as it prepares to take on the Seahawks. But at least Sean Payton has buried the hatchet with Mike Macdonald. However, there’s an injury concern, as Pat Surtain II isn’t the only Broncos secondary star poised to miss the showdown against the Seahawks.
The problem is with safety Talanoa Hufanga, according to a post on X by Jeremy Fowler.
“Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga is expected to miss multiple weeks with an ankle injury, per sources. One source estimated about 2-3 weeks, depending how he recovers.”

The Broncos, 3-2 on the season, will play host to the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. The Seahawks also stand at 3-2.
Broncos dealing with several key issues
Surtain is trying to recover from an ankle injury suffered during the Week 4 game against the 49ers. He didn’t practice Monday or Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the offense seems to be sputtering under the direction of quarterback Bo Nix. Head coach Sean Payton said Nix needs to cut loose, according to ESPN.
“There’s a lot that’s been said about his feet,” Payton said. “I think he’s settling that down. [But] I think it’s important from a protection standpoint we provide that early in game, so that clock doesn’t get juiced up a little bit.”
Nix had two ankle surgeries in the offseason. That has cut down on his mobility so far this year. And his 5.7 air yards per attempt ranks No. 32 in the NFL among 31 qualifying quarterbacks.
“I think after [five] weeks there’s a handful of things collectively,” Payton said. “It starts with me, where it’s like ‘alright, where it’s let’s focus on the details’ and I think the by-product helps the [quarterback]. I think the hardest thing to do in this league is play that position if you’re not rushing the ball.”
Nix said he needs to do things differently and better.
“When a coach says ‘let it rip,’ it means play what you see, have good vision,” Nix said. “And I think there’s just, right now, there’s just a little subtle piece that’s overall offensive execution that we’re still working toward.”
