THE 10TH Infantry (Agila) Division paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Marawi during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the 10ID Heroes Memorial Park in Mawab, Davao de Oro, on October 17, 2026.
The event was part of a Philippine Army-wide simultaneous commemoration marking the 9th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Liberation of Marawi City.
The ceremony honored the gallantry and ultimate sacrifice of soldiers and uniformed personnel who fought during the five-month Marawi Siege in 2017. It also recognized the enduring resilience of the Marawi populace and the joint efforts that restored peace and sovereignty to the city.
MGEN Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10ID, emphasized that the bravery shown by the fallen troops continues to serve as an enduring guidepost for active-duty personnel.
“Their sacrifice is not merely a part of history; it is a legacy of bravery and love for the country that we must carry on in every duty we perform,” Luzon said.
