The ferry service is due to start on Thursday at 10 a.m., the Swedish Transport Administration said in a press release.
It will primarily be used by priority road user groups, including the police, emergency services, ambulances, home care, healthcare, mobility services and local medical transport, as well as school transport at fixed times.
Pedestrians and cyclists, private companies with on-call operations, local residents making private car trips and people travelling longer distances for medical care will be given priority next.
"Other traffic on the E45 should continue to use the diversion routes," says Karin Netterman, section manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, in the press release.
The Strömsund Bridge on the E45 has been completely closed since the end of September after being damaged in an incident involving a heavy transport vehicle.
