Horror fans have waited 17 years for a new on-screen chapter in the Friday the 13th saga, and Crystal Lake has finally delivered it, with the legendary Linda Cardellini providing plenty of scares.
The series rewinds to the origins of the franchise, centring on Pamela Voorhees (Cardellini), and the events that shaped her son Jason long before the slasher legend took hold. Beware, though, this show is not for the squeamish!
But, with the show only just reaching screens, attention is already turning to whether Camp Crystal Lake will reopen for a second season. Here is everything we know so far.
Will there be a Crystal Lake season 2?
As of October 2026, Peacock has not announced a second season of Crystal Lake. The streamer ordered an eight-episode first season, and that is the only run confirmed so far.
However, showrunner Brad Caleb Kane has expressed his hopes for more. Speaking exclusively to Radio Times about where he could take Pamela next, he said: "I thought extensively about it.
"I know where I want to take her. I know where I want to take the residents of the other town. I want to dig into their lives a little bit more. Crazy Ralph, Dorf, Rita, you know, Levon. You know, there's a lot more to learn about these people, and there's a lot more fun to be had with them.
"And obviously Pam is a very deep character, and there are a lot of places she can go to the extent that Linda wants to continue playing the character. There are a lot of stories to tell about her. So, yes, I know exactly where we're going in season 2, and I hope people watch and give us the opportunity to make it for them and shock them further."
Who is in the Crystal Lake cast?
The first season is led by Linda Cardellini. The main cast includes:
- Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees
- William Catlett as Levon
- Devin Kessler as Brianna
- Cameron Scoggins as Dorf
- Gwendolyn Sundstrom as Grace
Callum Vinson plays a young Jason Voorhees. Should a second season go ahead, the returning line-up would depend on where the story picks up.
