The Federal Government has inaugurated a ministerial committee to curb the persistent vandalism of power infrastructure across the country.
Speaking at the committee’s inaugural meeting, the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, said the panel would focus on protecting critical national assets and ensuring a stable electricity supply nationwide.
He stated that the committee has the responsibility to develop effective strategies to prevent attacks across the power value chain; from generation, to transmission and distribution.
The move followed persistent cases of vandalism, which continue to disrupt electricity supply, escalate repair costs, and threaten huge investments in the power sector.
