Uzbekistan plans to build a new 265-bed oncology center in Tashkent as part of a medical cluster being developed in cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank), the Ministry of Health’s press service reported.
Health Minister Eldor Adilov met with Lee Won-Seok, vice president of South Korean company AUM & LEE Architects & Associates, to discuss the next stages of the project. Following the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on the provision of consulting services.

Under the agreement, the AUM & LEE consortium will provide consultancy on the center’s design, construction management and supervision, medical equipment selection, medical services, and information system planning.
The project also includes three-stage practical training for the center’s staff in medical service quality, radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy.
“It is important for us to build the center with high quality. We trust the experience and quality of work of the Korean side,” Adilov said.
Earlier, Uzbekistan considered establishing a National Reference Pathomorphology Center to improve the diagnosis of oncological diseases. The country also plans to train 100 young oncologist-surgeons at French clinics by 2030.
