The mother-daughter duo clearly brought their fashion A-game to the event. Massawe stepped out in a maroon leather bomber jacket, a mini skirt, knee-high boots, a black crossbody bag and shades, while her daughter complemented her look in a black crop top, a leopard-print maxi skirt with a thigh-high cut and long braids, carrying a black shoulder bag.
The pair posed in front of a chic yellow installation at the venue, both beaming from ear to ear.
Massawe's heartfelt caption wins fans over
Taking to Instagram, Massawe shared the photos with a caption that perfectly captured the mood of the evening.
"Sang the songs, made the memories, loved every moment. Mother-daughter nights just hit differently," she wrote, adding the hashtags #raisingdaughters, #onenightonly and #bestinswahiliradio.
The post was soundtracked to Ne-Yo's When You're Mad.
The response from fans was swift. The post gathered over 2,375 likes and 104 comments, with admirers. Many in the comment section could not stop gushing over how grown Massawe's daughter looked and how natural the bond between the two appeared.
A night that reflected Massawe's bigger mission
For Massawe, the outing was more than just a concert. The veteran broadcaster has long been associated with her #RaisingDaughters initiative, a platform through which she champions the cause of girl children and celebrates the journey of motherhood.
The night out blended all of that together, turning a fun evening of live music into a statement about the importance of nurturing the mother-daughter relationship.
The presenter, widely regarded as one of Kenya's most recognisable voices in Swahili radio, continues to build a loyal following both on air and on social media, where moments like these remind fans why they connect with her beyond the microphone.
Did Maina question Ne-Yo's short perfomance
We also highlighted facts about Ne-Yo’s sold-out Nairobi concert, where Maina Kageni questioned whether the singer’s short set justified the high ticket prices.
Ne-Yo performed for about two hours, while local acts Ken Wa Maria and Kativui are known to keep crowds dancing until the early hours. The concert also drew attention before the show, after Ne-Yo arrived with two of his three girlfriends.
