One of the altcoins currently in the spotlight is the privacy-focused cryptocurrency Zcash (ZEC). While ZEC has been making headlines with its recent price increases, noteworthy statements have come from the Winklevoss brothers, one of its biggest supporters.
Accordingly, the Winklevoss twins stated that they predict ZEC will surpass $5,000 within the next 5-10 years.
Bitcoin’s Transparency, Zcash’s Privacy Stands Out!
In a recent interview discussing ZEC, Gemini co-founders Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss believe ZEC has the potential to rise above $5,000 within the next five to ten years.
According to the Winklevoss brothers, Bitcoin’s blockchain allows transactions to be publicly verified. However, this transparency also allows users’ financial activities to be tracked, limiting its privacy features.
Zcash, on the other hand, supports keeping information such as sender, receiver, and transaction amount private thanks to optional protected transactions. With this feature, ZEC is considered a digital asset that complements Bitcoin’s transparency model, rather than being an alternative to it.
At this point, the Winklevoss brothers added that Zcash fills the gap in Bitcoin’s privacy functionality and acts as an encrypted Bitcoin.
Winklevoss Brothers’ Zcash Prediction: It Could Exceed $5,000!
According to the Winklevoses brothers, ZEC’s privacy value hasn’t fully materialized yet. At this point, they believe that if ZEC’s market capitalization reaches 10% of Bitcoin’s value, ZEC could increase fivefold and easily surpass $5,000.
Therefore, ZEC’s price-performance ratio could be good over the next 5 to 10 years, especially as the demand for privacy increases.
As you may recall, Winklevoss Asset Services, controlled by the Winklevoss brothers, filed an S-1 registration application with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) earlier this month for a spot Zcash ETF. According to the application, the product is planned to be listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “WINK”.
