Why Abus Magomedov Will Win
Abus Magomedov is dangerous early, with a wide range of powerful tools. His recent first-round guillotine choke of Michal Oleksiejczuk showed that he can still finish quickly.
Rowston can be slow to start, and that is a major issue against someone who comes out looking to do damage. Covers noted that Rowston’s cold starts could be costly.
Magomedov’s wrestling-heavy approach can also control a fight after the early surge fades. His 29-7-1 record shows he has seen nearly everything.
Rowston’s grappling-heavy win over Bryczek wasn’t especially impressive. That gives Magomedov reason to believe he can neutralize the Australian’s wrestling.
If he sets the pace and lands early, Magomedov can force Rowston into uncomfortable positions. His gas tank is a concern if the fight goes long.
Why Cam Rowston Will Win
Cam Rowston is 3-0 in the UFC and has been consistently improving. He beat Cody Brundage and Robert Bryczek in 2026 and is eyeing a spot in the middleweight top 15.
Magomedov has a questionable gas tank, and Rowston has the size to push the pace. Surviving the first round might be enough to turn the fight around.
Rowston’s large middleweight frame and sustained pressure make him dangerous in several phases. Much of his success has come from a wrestling advantage.
Magomedov faded in his main event against Sean Strickland after an early surge. If Rowston can survive, the same pattern could repeat.
His path is simple: weather the early storm and take over in the second and third rounds. Magomedov’s early power means he has to be careful.
Final Abus Magomedov-Cam Rowston Prediction & Pick
This is a near pick’em and the fight is likely to be decided by whether Rowston can survive the first round.
Magomedov is dangerous early and has a long record of finishes. Rowston has the size and the wrestling, but he starts slowly.
I pick Magomedov by finish, most likely in the first two rounds, with Rowston’s size as the risk.
