According to KAN, when voters head to the polls, they are most concerned about the economy (34%) and national security (32%).
About 30% of the Israeli public remains undecided about who to vote for in the upcoming Knesset elections on October 27, according to a KAN news poll published on Sunday.
When voters head to the polls, they are most concerned about the economy (34%) and national security (32%), according to KAN. Those two issues were split fairly evenly along party lines, with 45% of coalition-aligned voters saying that security was their top issue and 41% of opposition-aligned voters citing the economy and cost of living. Conversely, only 19% of coalition voters said that economic issues were their top priority, and only 28% of opposition voters said the same about security.
Despite the fact that nearly one-third of respondents were undecided, a further 39% were so set in their decision that they claimed nothing could change their vote between press time and the elections, per the KAN poll. Nearly 20% said that a change in the nation's security situation could influence their choice of candidate, and the same percentage said that a change in the cost of living could sway them.
Finally, 33% of respondents to Sunday's KAN news poll said that if neither major bloc could muster a majority in the Knesset after the elections, they would be content with forming a unity government comprising members from both sides.
Just over a quarter of voters said they would prefer to hold another election in that case, and 20% said they would support a minority-run government.
