Social media personality Lacy, who boasts more more than three million followers on Twitch, was removed from his seat and ushered out of SoFi Stadium on Monday night after he was accused of live-streaming the Bills vs. Rams game.
The streamer’s tense standoff with on-site security all began in the second quarter of the thrilling “Monday Night Football” matchup.
Lacy was sitting in a front-row chair, conversing with his followers, when a guard in a yellow vest approached him and appeared to question him about his camera.
Lacy was adamant he was “not showing the game” and also claimed he was “told I could just show my face and not” the action on the field.
However, when he didn’t provide the official with an ID, he was then ejected from his seat.
“Let’s go,” the guard said.
Lacy and his cameraman were then confronted by multiple other stadium security officers, who ushered the two to the lowest level of the stadium.
“The NFL rep wants to talk to you,” one explained to Lacy as he was urging him to go downstairs.
Lacy then told a man who appeared to be an NFL representative that “someone from my PR team” had gotten the green light from the league to stream, as long as he didn’t film plays.
The parties argued about the situation for several minutes, before Lacy was ultimately escorted out of the venue.
“They handled that great,” Lacy said on the stream as he headed for the parking lot. “Tell me beforehand that I’m allowed to show just my face at the game, then kick me out when I’m at the game.”
Messages seeking comment from the Rams, the NFL and Lacy on Tuesday morning were not immediately returned.
