Celestia’s TIA token climbed about 16% after the launch of Eden, a new EVM-compatible chain built for autonomous AI agents.
Some estimates put the 24-hour move closer to 30%, with TIA trading between $0.69 and $0.70.
Eden went live on October 16, 2026. Celestia calls it an experiment, and that word is doing real work. The chain is a testing ground for what the project calls “agentic commerce”: AI agents handling payments, trading, and fund management on-chain with minimal human hand-holding.
What Eden actually is
The chain runs on the Evolve Stack and handles its own execution and consensus. It leans on Celestia mainnet for one job only: data availability, which means publishing transaction data so anyone can check it. Eden decides what happens on its own network, while Celestia keeps the public record that proves it happened.
TIA is Eden’s native gas token, so every transaction on the new chain draws on demand for it.
Eden supports 100 ms block times, or ten blocks every second. The chain also allows application-sponsored gas fees. Apps can cover transaction costs for their users, so an agent doesn’t need to hold a balance of TIA before doing anything useful. Smart contracts can reach 128 KB in size, giving developers more room for complex on-chain logic.
Meet Botfun, the first experiment
Eden’s first closed-beta project is Botfun. On Botfun, agents issue tokens and trade them around narratives that other agents generate. One bot writes a story, another mints a token about it, and a third decides whether to buy.
The platform relies on the x402 protocol for transactions. Agents can also make inference calls directly on-chain, meaning they can query AI models as part of their on-chain activity.
During the beta, Eden briefly ranked among the top x402 networks by transaction count.
Why Celestia built this
Celestia has positioned itself as a data availability layer. Eden extends that model with a working chain that sends real traffic to Celestia mainnet.
Celestia frames Eden as a tool for measuring how much blockspace demand autonomous agents might create. The project also wants to understand how quickly and cheaply low-friction payments can move as agent use grows.
What this means for TIA and the agent economy
Alongside the price gain, TIA saw a notable rise in market capitalization and trading volume.
Eden is explicitly experimental, and Botfun remains in closed beta. Systems where bots issue and trade tokens around AI-written narratives could produce strange market behavior that no one fully anticipates.
For investors, the key metrics are straightforward. Watch transaction counts on Eden, the volume of data flowing to Celestia mainnet, and whether projects beyond Botfun join the network.
