Monica Lewinsky is shopping a book, Page Six Hollywood has exclusively learned.
Publishing sources are buzzing about the project this week, and we hear that the tome is being sold via WME. A tight-lipped source close to Lewinsky confirmed that the book is indeed being shopped — but refused to dish on any further deets.
Another insider told us when we asked if the book would focus on Lewinsky’s infamous ’90s Bill Clinton scandal during her days as a White House intern, or her more recent era as an anti-bullying advocate and podcaster — that the book would likely cover both.
Lewinsky, 53, has never penned an autobiography.
She previously cooperated with a 1999 book by Princess Diana’s biographer, Andrew Morton, called “Monica’s Story.” She also served as a producer on Ryan Murphy‘s 2021 TV series, “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” based on Jeffrey Toobin‘s book, “A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President,”) and penned a 2014 essay for Vanity Fair, “Shame and Survival.”
Lewinsky became a household name in 1998 when it was revealed she had a sexual relationship with former President Clinton as a 22-year-old White House intern. (An estimated 70 million people watched her sitdown interview with Barbara Walters a year later.)
For years Lewinsky faced being the subject of public ridicule, and went on to become an anti-bullying advocate.
Her Wondery podcast, “Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky,” launched last year and draws on her own “journey in the public eye,” and she’s hosted guests including Lizzo, Sarah Paulson, Andrew Rannells, Kara Swisher, Miley Cyrus, Alan Cumming, Michael Stipe, John Oliver, Lena Dunham, Olivia Munn, Tony Goldwyn and more.
In a recent episode with Jamie Lynn Sigler, Lewinsky said, “You really can’t move through all the steps until you’ve had acceptance,” while relating to Sigler’s own new memoir. “A lot of my progress during my dark decade really came about from integration and being able to integrate like, ‘OK, I couldn’t leave Monica Lewinsky the White House intern in the past,’ like I had to find a way to not be ashamed and bring her with me, all the things. And so you can’t integrate until you’ve accepted.”
The podcast was also just named as a Signal Award winner, along with podcasts by Amy Poehler, Anderson Cooper, Khloé Kardashian, Mel Robbins and more. Lewinsky has also been a producer on various projects and has a production company, Alt Ending Productions.
