IMPHAL, Oct 12 : The women wing of the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation (JFD) called on two more MLAs today as part of their movement demanding updation of the National Register of Citizens with 1951 as the base year before the census.
The MLAs covered were Heirok AC MLA Thokchom Radheshyam and Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Thokchom Satyabrata (Yaiskul AC MLA).
The JFD submitted a five-point memorandum to the MLAs along with a declaration paper pledging support for the movement demanding a complete deferment of the Census until the issue of illegal immigrants is resolved.
The MLAs signed the declaration paper, affirming their support for the NRC movement, it added.
