Public consultation has opened the document known as NAP4 – Australia’s fourth open government national action plan.
The federal government will replace Australia’s third national action plan for open government with a new implementation plan from January 2027 to December 2028 (NAP4). It wants your feedback on what the refreshed plan will look like.
Among the seven proposed commitments for NAP4 are strengthening youth engagement in government decision-making and strengthening civic participation through collaborative design of model government engagement processes.
According to a consultation paper, Home Affairs’ Office of Social Cohesion would lead the work of strengthening civic participation through two civic space policy design workshops.
