The Pittsburgh Steelers have made an important roster change, parting ways with a veteran safety ahead of their Week 7 Paris matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
On Wednesday, the Steelers announced the release of 32-year-old safety Rayshawn Jenkins, who joined the team back in August 2026 amid uncertainty at the safety position.

Jenkins, currently in Year 10 of his NFL career, has previously played for the Los Angeles Chargers (2017-2020), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021-2023), Seattle Seahawks (2024) and Cleveland Browns (2025). In 145 career games, including 93 starts, Jenkins has recorded 578 combined tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 34 passes defended and 11 interceptions.
During his brief 2026 stint with the Steelers, in which he appeared in six games and made one start, Jenkins recorded just 16 combined tackles.
With the Week 7 Paris game just days away, there may be a little more to Jenkins' release than meets the eye, as the Steelers appear to be readying for a standout defender to make his long-awaited return off injured reserve.
