Evangelist Andrew Palau and wife Wendy Palau addressing the media
INTERNATIONAL EVANGELIST, Andrew Palau, is leading a major gospel campaign in Kumasi, with organisers targeting more than two million people for the upcoming Love Ghana Festival scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026.
The two-day open-air festival, to be held at the Kumasi Racecourse, is expected to bring together hundreds of churches and Christian organisations in a united effort to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and promote spiritual and social transformation in the Ashanti regional capital.
Evangelist Palau, who has spent more than 25 years conducting evangelistic campaigns across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas, said the initiative was aimed at giving residents from all walks of life an opportunity to experience the transforming power of the gospel.
Addressing a press conference at Lancaster Kumasi City on Monday, October 19, he stressed that the festival was not exclusively for Christians but was open to everyone, irrespective of their religious background, social status or personal circumstances.
He called on residents, particularly young people and those battling addiction and other life challenges, to take advantage of the gathering.
“We want every single soul of the city, whether those living on the streets or those in business leadership, to feel a warm welcome and join us at the festival,” he said.
According to him, the gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to transform lives, restore hope and deliver people from destructive lifestyles.
The international evangelist, who was accompanied by his wife, Wendy, said his passion for evangelism was rooted in his personal experience of transformation after years of alcohol and drug addiction.
Six-Day Gospel Movement
Rev. Dr. Seth Frimpong Coleman, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Love Ghana Festival, said the initiative was designed as a six-day gospel movement that would climax with the open-air festival on October 24 and 25.
He explained that the programme, officially launched in June this year, sought to unite the Christian community and reach more than two million people across Greater Kumasi with the message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ.
He said the activities preceding the main festival would extend beyond preaching to include practical interventions aimed at addressing some of the needs of vulnerable groups.
These would include eyeglass clinics, prison outreaches, visits to orphanages and street children, and evangelistic programmes in basic, secondary and tertiary institutions.
Sports tournaments, demonstrations by professional BMX riders and family entertainment would also form part of the activities.
Additionally, special gatherings would be organised for women, young people and business leaders, alongside outreach programmes in market communities.
Churches Unite
He disclosed that several Christian bodies, including the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Catholic Secretariat, the Anglican Secretariat, the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches, were collaborating with hundreds of local churches and other Christian organisations.
Describing the festival as more than a religious programme, Rev. Dr. Coleman said it was a city transformation project intended to inspire hope among young people, strengthen families and promote the spiritual wellbeing of residents.
The organisers expressed optimism that the campaign would leave a lasting impact on Kumasi through evangelism, community service and stronger cooperation among churches.
