Aldi has urgently recalled its range of copycat Dyson hairdryers after warning they pose a 'high risk of electric shock'.
Customers who bought an Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer have been told to stop using it immediately and return it to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund.
The £12 appliance was seen as a budget-friendly alternative to the popular Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, which sells for around £250.
However, Aldi has now withdrawn the product as a 'precautionary measure' due to safety concerns.
According to an official recall notice, the hairdryer's power cord may become damaged over time, potentially exposing live electrical components or causing overheating.
Anyone who comes into contact with an exposed live part could suffer an electric shock.
The hairdryers were sold in Aldi stores between August and September 2025.

The model number is 849855. The affected barcode numbers, which can be found on the underside of the hairdryer, are 4061462195075 (black), 4061462195211 (white), 4061462195310 (yellow) and 4061462195372 (orange).
An Aldi spokesman said: 'As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling the Ambiano Ionic Hairdryer [sold between August and September 2025] because of a technical fault.
'Anyone who bought this product should return it to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
The supermarket has previously been forced to recall products after they were found to contain undeclared allergens.
An Office for Product Safety & Standards spokesman said: 'The product presents a risk of electric shock or fire as, over time, the power cord may become damaged, allowing access to live parts or causing overheating.
'If the user were to touch an accessible live part, they could receive an electric shock. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
'The product has been recalled from end users by Aldi. Consumers who have purchased the product should stop using it immediately and return it to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund.'
This is not the first time Aldi has had to pull products from sale.

Earlier this year, the retailer recalled pre-cooked salmon over fears it could cause food poisoning after a labelling error left shoppers at risk.
The warning, issued by the Food Standards Agency on April 14, affected its 'Fishmonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets - Honey Roasted' in 180g packs.
Officials said the product was incorrectly labelled with a use-by date of June 25, 2026, when the correct date was April 25, 2026, meaning it could be unsafe to eat if consumed after the earlier date.
Last year, Aldi also recalled its Gianni's Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream after it was found to contain gluten that was not declared on the label.
According to the Food Standards Agency, this meant the product posed a 'possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease and/or intolerance to wheat (gluten).'
