By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A Belize Defence Force officer has been honoured by the Brazilian Air Force.
Lieutenant Colonel Kenroy Smith, Commanding Officer of the BDF Air Wing, was awarded the Order of Aeronautical Merit in the grade of Grand Officer.
The award was presented by Brazil’s Ambassador to Belize, His Excellency Olyntho Vieira, during a ceremony at the Embassy of Brazil in Belmopan on Friday, October 23, as part of Brazilian Aviation Day.
The Order of Aeronautical Merit is a distinguished decoration of the Brazilian Air Force, recognizing outstanding service and exceptional contributions to military aviation and aeronautical development.
The BDF says the honour reflects Lt. Col. Smith’s significant contributions to military aviation, regional cooperation and stronger ties between the BDF and Brazil’s armed forces.
The Commander and members of the BDF congratulated him, saying his dedication and professionalism continue to bring distinction to the Force and to Belize.
