DETROIT — A new era of Detroit Pistons basketball starts this week.
For the 2026-27 season, the Pistons will primarily be broadcast on local television for the first time since 2005. More than 70 Pistons regular-season games are set to air on WMYD TV 20 in the Metro Detroit market, starting with the Pistons' game on the road against the Miami Heat on Friday, Oct. 23.
Here is how you can watch Pistons games in 2026-27 in Metro Detroit:
- Over the air (antenna): Channel 20.1
- Xfinity: Channels 3, 20, 235, 1020
- AT&T: Channels 20, 1010
- DIRECTV: Channels 20, 887
- WideOpenWest: Channels 20, 206, 454
- Wyandotte Municipal Services: Channels 8, 168, 507
- Buckeye Broadband: Channels 55, 624
- D&P Cable: Channels 3, 703
Pistons games also will be available via subscription streaming options, including DAZN and Fubo. Of note, Charter/Spectrum doesn't carry TV 20, amid a dispute with parent company Scripps over carriage fees.
Pistons games previously were mostly broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network (Bally Sports Detroit and Fox Sports Detroit before that), but the regional-sports network's parent company folded earlier this year after years of financial woes. The Tigers and Red Wings moved their TV broadcasts to the newly created Detroit SportsNetwork, while the Pistons opted for the local TV route.
The Pistons broadcasts will feature much the same on-air talent, including George Blaha and Greg Kelser. For Friday's game and Sunday's game at Philadelphia, Johnny Kane will be the play-by-play man, Kelser will be the analyst, Kara Liles will be the courtside reporter, Natalie Kerwin will be the studio host and Grant Long will be the studio analyst.
The Pistons opened the 2026-27 regular season on national TV, with a 121-113 win over the Boston Celtics at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Oct. 20.
