Portuguese star João Félix is considering leaving the Saudi league and returning to Europe, and FC Barcelona is his dream destination, according to a new report. Félix played the 2023-24 season on loan at Barça.
His representative, Jorge Mendes, who is one of the world’s most influential agents and has a good relationship with Barcelona club president Joan Laporta, is said to have set a meeting with Al Nassr, the club his client currently plays for.
Félix was the Saudi League’s Player of the Season in 2025-26 and led Al Nassr to their first league title in seven years. He’s also a key player for the Portuguese national team. The attacker has a contract with the Saudis until 2027, with an option for one more year.
The key point of the meeting is reportedly to turn down the optional year and engineer a path back to Europe once his contract expires. Barcelona is said to be Félix’s #1 choice. He would join his compatriot João Cancelo in going from Barcelona to Saudi Arabia and back to Catalonia, if the move were to take place.
There’s doubt that Barcelona would be interested, in part because the team is well-covered in terms of attacking options. Juventus is said to be another potential landing spot.
