The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested 42 people during raids on three companies in Karachi’s Rabia City over allegations involving online pornographic animations and deceptive social media activity.
The agency’s Karachi Zone targeted businesses allegedly producing, promoting and selling sexually explicit cartoon animations, pornographic digital content and other digital design services to foreign customers.
Officers arrested company owners and employees during the operation. They also seized 41 mobile phones for technical examination and digital forensic analysis.
According to officials, preliminary information suggests the companies operated through organized teams of online agents. These agents contacted foreign customers through social media platforms, particularly Instagram and X, formerly Twitter.
Investigators allege that the agents created and managed multiple accounts using fictitious identities, women’s names and fake profiles to attract international clients.
Through these accounts, they advertised logo design, banners, digital illustrations, animations and sexually explicit cartoon content.
Officials said investigators were examining allegations that agents used misleading identities to approach foreign customers and secure orders for pornographic animations.
Authorities identified Fida Hussain as the owner of one company, which had operated for around two years. The business provided international clients with online logo design, banner design and other digital artwork services. Officers seized 19 mobile phones from the company.
A second company allegedly belonged to a man named Danish and operated with four staff members. Officials said it primarily promoted and sold logo and banner design services online to foreign customers. Investigators seized five mobile phones from its premises.
Meanwhile, Mohsin and Ehsan allegedly ran the third company, which had 17 staff members. It offered digital design, animation and online content services for sale in international markets. Officers recovered 17 mobile phones from that business.
NCCIA officials said they had taken the seized phones into custody to establish the nature and scale of the suspected activities.
Investigators are reviewing social media accounts, digital communications, suspected pornographic animations and other relevant electronic evidence.
