CD Projekt Red has released a new update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered for the Nintendo Switch 2. The update, which Switch 2 owners have been anticipating for a while, brings several fixes, and most importantly, a visual improvement.
The update arrives as Patch 5.0.1 and has already begun rolling out in most regions since its release, save for the Japanese version of the game, which CD Projekt Red says will follow, once it passes certification. The changelog lists several fixes that are also available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S (released for the aforementioned platforms on October 8). However, the Nintendo Switch 2 specific changes are listed below:
- Made adjustments to image sharpening and resolution to improve visual clarity and fidelity.
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur when changing between in-game regions.
- Optimized cache handling for Cross-Platform Mod Support.
- Fixed an issue where HD Rumble could only be felt in the left Joy-Con 2 when climbing a ladder.
- Fixed an issue where map pins could be placed on the black bars surrounding the map.
Several users have commented on the improved graphics following the update, and there are already videos online showing gameplay. One of such videos is that of the YouTube channel, Deck wizard, which shows gameplay on the Nintendo Switch 2 in both handheld and docked modes.
Several comments praised the graphical improvements, with a handful saying the blurriness has been fixed. There are also reports that cross progression now works for those who own the game on multiple platforms, now that the Nintendo Switch 2's version mow matches that of other platforms.
