Dallas’ defense still looks porous to start Sunday night’s game against Green Bay.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love connected with receiver Matthew Golden for a 9-yard touchdown, giving the club a 7-0 lead.
The 14-play, 90-yard drive took 6:30 off the clock.
Though the Packers didn’t really get anything going on the ground, Jordan Love moved it just fine through the air. He was 6-of-8 for 109 yards with a TD to open the contest. Two penalties moved Green Bay back, allowing for that yardage on what was technically a 90-yard possession.
Golden caught the touchdown and had a big 37-yard catch to move the chains — though he was flagged for taunting. Christian Watson also had a 27-yard reception on the possession.
Green Bay was 4-of-4 on third down.
The Cowboys had to punt to end their first possession after gaining one first down.
Dallas returner KaVontae Turpin has a rib injury and is questionable to return. He was hurt on the opening kickoff. Tyler Goodson has come in to replace Turpin as a kickoff returner.
