"Being Michael Dell’s child means growing up with one of Silicon Valley’s most well-known last names and within a fortune that is hard to grasp. The founder and CEO of Dell Technologies has become one of the richest people on the planet, and his wealth has reached figures exceeding 280 billion dollars in the most recent estimates.
Michael and Susan Dell have been married since 1989 and have four children: Kira, Alexa, Juliette, and Zachary. The family has spent much of their lives in Austin, Texas, and all four have followed very different professional paths.
Who are Michael and Susan Dell's four children?
Kira Dell, the eldest, has maintained one of the family’s most discreet profiles. She graduated from Vassar College in 2015, where she studied International Studies, and later worked as a teacher before making the leap into the business world. She is currently the founder and CEO of Adaptive Water, a company focused on solutions for reusing water in commercial and industrial facilities.
Alexa Dell has had greater public exposure. She studied at Columbia University and later became involved in the technology sector and investments. She has also participated in initiatives of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. In 2025, she married Frédéric Choquette, and together they became parents of a daughter in 2026. Alexa already had a son, Lucien.
Juliette Dell, Zachary's twin sister, followed a different path from the business world. She completed internships at both Dell Technologies and the luxury firm Hermès before focusing on one of her greatest passions: competitive horseback riding. In March 2024, she married Chase Chamberlin, founder of Commonwealth Sports.
Zach Dell's case is the one that most closely resembles his father's business profile. He studied Psychology and Economics at the University of Southern California and began launching ventures from a very young age. In 2023, he co-founded Base Power, a company specializing in residential batteries and electricity supply.
Zach Dell is already building his own fortune
Base Power has become one of Austin’s most prominent technology projects. The company has managed to attract major investments and rapidly expand its valuation, making Zachary one of the most closely watched young entrepreneurs in the American technology scene.
His path bears an obvious similarity to his father's: both began building their own businesses from a very young age. The difference is that Zachary is doing it in a completely different sector, linked to energy and electrical storage.
Thus, although his last name opened doors that other entrepreneurs do not have, his business wealth does not depend solely on the family fortune.
Will all four inherit the more than 280 billion?
This is where the main nuance of the story appears. The fact that the four children are potential heirs does not mean there is a known division of Michael Dell's fortune. There is no public information establishing how much each one will receive.
In addition, Michael and Susan Dell have devoted a significant portion of their wealth to philanthropy. The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has donated billions of dollars to social and educational organizations and projects. The couple also pledged $6.25 billion to fund investment accounts intended for millions of American children.
The magnitude of the fortune also changes constantly. Michael Dell's net worth went from about $267.7 billion in September to briefly surpassing $280.0 billion in October, driven by the rise in Dell Technologies shares and the boom in infrastructure for artificial intelligence.
For now, Kira, Alexa, Juliette, and Zachary share much more than a last name. Each has built a different professional path while a question that will remain open for years continues to grow: how one of the largest family fortunes in the United States will ultimately be divided and what role the four children will have in that wealth.
