LAS VEGAS — The Pittsburgh Penguins perhaps caught a little break Saturday as the injury to Egor Chinakhov is merely day-to-day, despite the player being seen limping around Ball Arena Friday.
According to coach Dan Muse, Chinakhov is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not play Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights. This season, the 26-year-old winger has one goal and one assist in seven games played. He sustained the injury in practice Thursday.
Muse also updated defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk’s status. The D-man is rehabbing his lower-body injury in Pittsburgh. Forward Justin Brazeau also remains in Pittsburgh rehabbing his LBI.
The Penguins also confirmed that Sergei Murashov would start in goal Saturday when the Penguins face Vegas at T-Mobile Arena.
