From Tony John, Port Harcourt
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Rivers State, has unveiled its Governorship Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with former Senator Andrew Uchendu as Chairman.
The party said the Council comprises experienced political leaders, professionals, grassroots mobilisers, women, youths and other stakeholders saddled with coordinating campaign activities across the 23 local government areas of the state.
In a statement personally signed on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the State Chairman of ADC, Chukwudi Dimkpa, congratulated Senator Uchendu, Chairman of the Campaign Council, Chimbiko Akarolo, Director-General, as well as Vice Chairmen, Deputy Directors-General, Directorate leaders, Departmental Heads and other appointees.
Dimkpa said every appointment comes with a responsibility to serve with dedication, discipline, integrity, mutual respect and accountability.
He disclosed that the full membership of the 12 Directorates would be published separately, two Directorates daily, beginning Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
“Members whose names do not appear in today’s leadership announcement should therefore await the publication of their respective Directorates,” Dimkpa said.
He urged appointees to see their responsibilities as a call to service and to work harmoniously within the approved campaign structure.
Dimkpa charged members of the party and the campaign council to remain committed to “the vision of building the Rivers we deserve.”
