On the sidelines of the 2026 World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Meetings in Bangkok, Carla Loveira, Minister of Finance and Governor of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) for the Republic of Mozambique, met with Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group, to discuss the next phase of development cooperation.

Building on the longstanding partnership, discussions focused on:
- Preparing a new Member Country Partnership Strategy to guide future cooperation.
- Advancing human capital development.
- Exploring financing solutions for priority infrastructure and social sector investments.
- Exploring Islamic Development Bank Group support for establishing a development bank, advancing Islamic finance, and strengthening institutional capacity through technical assistance and capacity building.
- Supporting Mozambique’s sustainable development priorities.
