The City Boy Movement has said it has perfected plans to mobilise eligible voters across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the election of other All Progressives Congress candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The state director of the movement, Femi Onireti, disclosed this on Monday during the inauguration of the movement’s local and state executive councils at Jogor Centre, Ibadan.
Onireti, who was represented by the Director of Mobilisation, Olumide Alli, urged members to work towards the collective interest of the movement.
He said, “The goal of the movement is to re-elect and elect Tinubu and other candidates of the APC at all levels during the 2027 elections.
“The Tinubu-led administration has made its mark in all the sectors of the economy, and, as a result, he deserves second term in office. The movement has perfected a strategy to mobilise eligible voters across the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo for the re-election and election of both President Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the party in the state.
“Tinubu in the past three years has touched all the sectors of the economy. He has continued with all the projects inherited from the previous administrations. Some have been completed, while others are ongoing and receiving the Federal Government’s attention.
“In order to continue with the good works that were started in 2023, Nigerians should allow Tinubu to continue in office in 2027,” he added.
In his remarks, the state chairman of the APC, Moses Adeyemo, urged the movement to use its numerical strength to strengthen the party’s chances across the state’s local government areas.
He said, “The nation’s population figure shows that the youth population is more than any other age group. That is why we are calling on you to maximise this to the advantage of the party in 2027.
“Other contending political parties cannot match our party in terms of the qualities of the candidates that we are presenting for the various elective positions. However, what we need to do is to work as a team and dissipate our energies on how to win the elections in 2027,” the state party chairman stated.
The 2027 general elections are expected to see political parties intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement as they prepare to contest presidential, governorship and legislative seats.
In Oyo State, the APC and other political parties will seek to build support across the state’s 33 local government areas ahead of the polls.
