UKHRUL: The Poumai Naga Officers’ Association, Imphal (PNOAI), has condemned the alleged “character assassination” of Tholu Rocky, MPS, a senior-ranking police officer serving as SP Kamjong, and the subsequent transfer order issued by the Manipur government.
In a condemnation statement dated October 18, the association expressed concern over the transfer order to the post of additional director, Manipur Police Training Centre (MPTC), issued by the Governor of Manipur.
The PNOAI said government officers, irrespective of caste, creed or gender, have a responsibility to act in accordance with their respective departmental service rules and government directives.

It also cautioned societies, civil society organisations and individuals against circulating fabricated information to tarnish an officer’s reputation without following due process and establishing evidence.

The association urged the Manipur government and police to immediately register an FIR, arrest those responsible for the alleged social media post and revoke the transfer order.
It further appealed to political and social leaders to refrain from spreading what it described as false propaganda, warning that such developments could deepen divisions within Manipuri society along community lines.
The PNOAI called for peace, harmony and order in the state.
