SELANGOR police are tracking an individual suspected of posing as an aide to the Raja Muda of Selangor, having allegedly committed fraud that resulted in losses amounting to RM700,000 over the past two years.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that 19 investigation papers have been opened nationwide following a report received from the Sultan of Selangor’s Security Control Office at Istana Mestika.
He added that, as a result, a woman in her 30s, believed to be the fiancée of the primary suspect, a 40-year-old man, was arrested within the state and has been placed under a three-day remand, effective October 20.
The woman in question is believed to be self-employed, running a salon.
“We are applying for an extension of the remand, as the investigation is still ongoing. A total of 19 investigation papers have been opened, involving other police contingents; specifically, nine investigation papers have been opened within the Selangor contingent.
“We are currently working to locate the primary suspect, identified as Al Zulfadly Alias. We are also tracking down several other individuals believed to have assisted the main suspect,” he told reporters.
Last Monday, it was reported that the Selangor police were investigating allegations that an individual had posed as an Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Shazeli Kahar stated that police received a report regarding the alleged misuse of the Raja Muda’s photograph in a post by a user on the social media platform Threads, under the account name ‘dwan_hamid’.
The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries a prison term of one to 10 years, whipping, and a fine upon conviction.
Police urged the public to assist in locating the individual and to notify the Head of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Rosni Mohamed.
“We seek the assistance of our media partners to help inform the public so that the suspect can be located. Any information may be relayed to the investigating officer, Sergeant Norizuana Saaidin, at 014-7175567,” he said. – October 23, 2026
