During her very first TikTok Live session on October 17, 2026, the politician casually dropped a revelation that reframed the entire Nairobi Senate race: Langata MP Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang'o, is her uncle.
"I do not know if you know that Jalang'o is my uncle," she told those on the call. "Where he comes from in Gem is just across my mother's home."

Rather than coming out swinging against her rival, Winnie struck a remarkably measured tone. She said she had already spoken to Jalang'o about the matter and made her position clear.
"I have been telling him that because he is my uncle, I am not going to fight him. I cannot disrespect you, you are my uncle," she said. "But I know you have made money. Now that you have made money, just go back and relax because we are not going to fight. I have too much respect to fight my uncle. We are outside now."
The comments drew warm responses from others on the call, with several voices heard encouraging her and expressing confidence in her campaign.
"Winnie, you got this. You are going to make it. We are behind you," one participant said.
Winnie herself kept the mood light, apologising for her tiredness and joking about accidentally activating filters she hadn't planned on using.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so tired. I've had a long day," she said before signing off. "Thank you for having me on the first TikTok Live."

The revelation adds a personal twist to what is already shaping up to be one of the most watched contests ahead of the.
Winnie announced her intention to run for the Nairobi Senate seat at her father, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's first memorial. Jalang'o, who currently serves as the Langata Member of Parliament, is also reportedly eyeing the same position.
Despite the family ties, both appear set to contest the seat, with Winnie making clear that while she respects Jalang'o deeply, she is fully committed to her campaign.
Her supporters on the call were equally enthusiastic, declaring that "Nairobi has already decided."
