Ghanaians can now order Acts of Parliament, copies of the Constitution and other official publications online and have them delivered to their locations without travelling to Accra.
The service follows the introduction of an online bookshop by the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) to improve public access to government publications.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Monday, October 19, 2026, GPCL Managing Director, Nana Kwasi Boatey, Esq., said the initiative was designed to address the difficulties people face in obtaining copies of Ghana’s laws.
He explained that people living outside Accra often had to travel long distances to purchase Acts of Parliament and other publications, sometimes spending more on transportation than on the documents themselves.
According to him, GPCL’s limited physical presence across the country had also created opportunities for the unauthorised printing and sale of Acts of Parliament.
The online bookshop is expected to make it easier for individuals and institutions to obtain genuine copies directly from the state-owned publishing company.
Under the system, customers can visit GPCL’s website, select the publications they need, place their orders and have the items delivered to their preferred locations.
The service covers publications sold at GPCL’s Business Centre, including Acts of Parliament and copies of the Constitution.
Mr Boatey said the initiative was partly in response to requests from members of the public for a more convenient way to access government publications.
He added that the company was also working to improve electronic access to its publications.
The online bookshop is expected to reduce the time and transportation costs associated with obtaining official documents, particularly for people living outside the national capital.
The initiative forms part of GPCL’s efforts to use technology to expand access to its services across the country.
