Two little cousins drown in pond in Keralam’s Palakkad district

Two cousins aged five and two-and-a-half drowned in a pond near their house at Pappadappadi, Thiruvegapura, in the district.

Fathima Zahra, 5, daughter of Shihab Musliyar, and Mohammed Hayan, son of Shihab’s brother Shoukath were suspected to have fallen in the pond while playing.

The children were fished out from the pond during a search after they went missing while playing in the courtyard. They were rushed to a private hospital at Perinthalmanna, where Fathima Zahra died on Wednesday. Hayan, who was on ventilator support, died on Thursday morning.

Fathima Zahra was a Class I student at ALBiRR School, Keezhmuri.
