Maggie Hudson will step down as CEO of Stayton, Ore.-based Santiam Hospital & Clinics on Nov. 1, after 33 years with the organization.
Ms. Hudson joined Santiam in 1993 in accounting and community relations, according to a statement Santiam shared with Becker’s. She served nearly 20 years as CFO and COO before being named president and CEO in 2020. As CEO, she led the hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic and the Santiam Canyon wildfires, oversaw an orthopedic center, an emergency department expansion and the hospital’s Epic implementation, and helped lead its affiliation with Salem, Ore.-based Salem Health, which was completed Sept. 1.
In a message on the hospital’s website, Ms. Hudson said she believes the affiliation is the right path for Santiam. “I also believe this next chapter calls for new leadership, and that the right thing for me to do is step away from my role as CEO,” she wrote.
Santiam has more than 750 employees, according to its website.
