🙅♂️ Juventus: Spalletti's job is safe
Juventus do not want to start from scratch despite their league struggles, the eight-point gap to the top and the defeats they have already suffered. The club's policy is to give Luciano Spalletti continuity, avoiding another managerial change. Following the loss to Lazio and tensions in the dressing room, the club are aiming to restore stability and get results.
The biggest concern is the inconsistency between their league and Europa League performances. The rebuilding process will also have to account for past mistakes and financial constraints: "We have to try to rebuild," is the message from the club, who intend to strengthen the project without resorting to yet another overhaul.
😔 Milan: Maignan apologised in the dressing room
Milan's European evening takes a turn for the worse just 27 minutes into their match against Bournemouth, when Mike Maignan is sent off for striking Adams in the face at a corner, also conceding the game's second penalty. It is a reaction deemed inexcusable, leaving the Rossoneri down to ten men and two goals behind. The goalkeeper protests the decision at length before returning to the dressing room without making a statement or posting an apology on social media. According to press reports, however, he did acknowledge his mistake in front of his teammates.
After the match, Amorim postponed his discussion with the captain: "You cannot make these mistakes, especially the more experienced players." Pavlovic, meanwhile, called for calm, while Jashari stressed the importance of understanding what went wrong. Maignan will be available for the match against Udinese.
✍️ Inter set to tie down Carlos Augusto!
Inter are ready to secure Carlos Augusto's future with a new contract until 2031. According to press reports, an agreement could be reached by the end of the month, with his salary rising from the current €2.2 million to €3.5 million per season, including bonuses. The Brazilian has earned a more prominent role thanks to an outstanding start to the season: four goals and two assists in ten matches, figures that underline his ability to make an impact in several positions.
The left-footer's improvement has seen him challenge Dimarco and Bastoni in the pecking order, while Inter's management are also working on contract extensions for Calhanoglu, Thuram and Dimarco himself. The club's new strategy places increasing emphasis on performance-related bonuses, rewarding players based on results. For Carlos Augusto, after a season often spent battling for playing time, an extension would be the ultimate recognition of his importance to Inter's project.
🤑 Napoli: American investment group refuses to give up!
Napoli remain a target for the group of US investors led by Matt Rizzetta, who has renewed contact over buying the club. According to La Repubblica, the new offer is reportedly around €1.3 billion, some way short of the €2 billion demanded by Aurelio De Laurentiis. Napoli's president would also like to retain an operational and decision-making role even after a potential sale.
Negotiations therefore remain complicated, despite the interest from the investors, who aim to create a multi-sport club encompassing football, basketball and other sports. De Laurentiis does not appear willing to accept terms that would reduce his management powers: the financial gap and guarantees over the club's future remain the main obstacles to an agreement.
💡 Roma: Amid injury crisis, Gasp reinvents... Cristante!
Roma have lost Lorenzo Pellegrini for at least two months. Tests revealed a high-grade tear to the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. It is bad news for Gian Piero Gasperini, who had seen the midfielder return to good form just as the team are dealing with injuries to Koné and Dybala. Cristante, however, will be available for the match against Napoli.
To cope with the crisis, Gasperini could field three midfielders together, leaving himself without alternatives on the bench. Another option is to task Cristante with marking Lobotka, as he has done in the past against opponents of the calibre of Modric and Calhanoglu. With few options in attacking midfield, where Soulé and Mora remain available, the Roma coach will have to find new solutions for a difficult away trip.
💪 Lazio: Will Gattuso rotate?
Gattuso is considering rotating his squad ahead of Lazio's upcoming fixtures. Barring any surprises, Noslin will once again lead the front three against Parma alongside Isaksen and Zaccagni, while Pinamonti remains in contention for a starting spot in the following games. Cancellieri, now fit again, will start on the bench and could come on during the match.
Marusic, Rovella and Gudmundsson remain unavailable, with the latter still struggling with shoulder pain and at risk of remaining sidelined beyond the November international break. In defence, Floriani, Sutalo, Provstgaard and Tavares are expected to line up in front of Mandas, with Frattesi, Belahyane and Taylor in midfield. Gattuso will hold a press conference on Friday at 14:30, before the final training session.
⚠️ Fiorentina: Juve keep pushing for Ndour
Cher Ndour is carving out an important role in Paolo Vanoli's Fiorentina side thanks to his physical presence, technical ability and knack for making runs into scoring positions. Since the start of the league season, he has played 566 minutes across seven matches, starting six of them. His potential was also evident with Italy Under-21s, when he scored twice against Poland, including a goal from more than 70 metres out.
The midfielder's performances have attracted interest from several clubs, including Juventus and some English sides, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Fiorentina, however, do not appear willing to let him go: Ndour is seen as an important asset for the present and an investment around whom to build the club's future.
