The LattePanda Sigma 2 has been formally unveiled, and it's a new SBC powered by the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, a powerful processor from the Panther Lake line. It has flexible expansion options and is available with up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The promotional price is $2,599.
LattePanda has introduced the Sigma 2, and for its compact size, the SBC brings a good amount of power. Dubbed a single-board server, it's powered by the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, a capable processor from the Panther Lake lineup with the Arc B390 iGPU.
The total AI performance is 180 TOPS INT8, and LattePanda says this makes the Sigma 2 ideal for building compact systems meant for local AI computing. This Intel Panther Lake processor on the SBC can be paired with up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM, but the company didn't share the other memory configurations.
On the top-end option, 59GB of the 64GB of memory can be allocated as VRAM for the iGPU, and for those who might need a bit more, the Sigma 2 seems to offer very flexible expansion options. The main highlight is the two Thunderbolt 4 ports and one PCIe 4.0x2 OCuLink port. These, per the brand, allow "server-class" expansion.
There are dual 10GbE ports for speedy wired networking, but no built-in wireless connectivity options are available. However, that's not a big issue, as the SBC has an M.2 E-key slot for a wireless card (Intel BE200NGW curr. $28.49 on Amazon), and there are three M.2 M-key slots available as well for easy storage expansion.
Other highlights of the LattePanda Sigma 2 include GPIO connectivity through the RP2350 microcontroller, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and an active cooler. During the pre-sale period, this Panther Lake-powered SBC will be available at a promotional starting price of $2,599, which is a notable discount from the $2,799 regular tag.
