Technicians of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) have completely restored a fleet of Army vehicles to motorable condition.
The Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DEME) had overseen the repair work carried out at the SLEME Base Workshops, saving funds that would otherwise have been spent on purchasing new vehicles, the Army says.
The fleet of 53 reconditioned vehicles was handed over to representatives of the respective regiments by Lieutenant General Nilantha Premaratne RSP VSV USP nps psc, Commander of the Army, during a formal ceremony held at Army Headquarters yesterday (Oct. 13).
