Santiago Castro and Rodrigo Mora are set to start for Roma as Daniele De Rossi returns to the Stadio Olimpico with Genoa.
It kicks off at 20:45 CET [19:45 BST] at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Roma are third, two points behind Inter and Lazio, but arrive after throwing away a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 to Real Madrid on Wednesday. Their last league game was a 0-0 draw at Como. De Rossi, a Roma legend as a player and coach, brings a Genoa side that picked up their first win of the season, 2-1 against Fiorentina, last time out. Genoa also won the last meeting between the sides, 2-1 in March.
Roma team news
Gian Piero Gasperini is without Donyell Malen, who is suspended after his red card at Como, and Paulo Dybala, who felt calf fatigue against Real Madrid. Manu Koné has a grade-one muscle tear, while Bryan Cristante and Mile Svilar remain out.
According to Sky, Castro will lead the line in Malen’s absence, with Matías Soulé and Mora behind him. Emanuele Lulli is ahead of Nahuel Molina on the right, and Niccolò Pisilli partners Marten de Roon in midfield.
Corriere dello Sport, however, both include Leonardo Balerdi in the back three.
De Rossi is expected to name the side that beat Fiorentina, with Junior Messias behind Milutin Osmajic, who already has three league goals, and former Roma winger Stephan El Shaarawy on the left. Genoa are without Lorenzo Colombo, Venturino and Sow.
