Gap is back! Loved by A-listers like Gwyneth Paltrow and Hailey Bieber, this high street store was once considered a nostalgia brand. But its Victoria Beckham collaboration has officially put Gap back on the map.
Today is the day the second collection from Gap x Victoria Beckham drops. Their first drop, back in Spring, was a sellout, and I’m almost certain this will be too. It's the perfect opportunity to get your hands on a Victoria Beckham piece without having to spend a fortune.
Designed for layering, the 37-piece collection focuses heavily on texture and proportion. Expect oversized bomber jackets as well as classic wool-blend coats for everyday wear, staple denims and branded accessories. Whether you’re a fan of VB’s tailoring or Gap's iconic logo, this collection is worth looking at.
I got my hands on the collection before the launch, and these are my favourite pieces I think you should check out on before they sell out.
The perfect denim set
I’m a huge fan of denim. I live in jeans through these months, so I love to welcome new styles into my wardrobe. These baggy jeans are a big hit. I love the shape they create as well as the soft yet supportive fit. Whilst double denim isn’t my thing, they look great with the shirt-style jacket to create a statement look. Anyone who works in fashion, like me, loves a big bag. One that you can take on shoots, for a weekend away or as chic storage. This is the bag that can fit everything you need and more. Just be aware it’s quite a naturally heavy style so it comes with a detachable strap so you can carry crossbody or over your shoulder.
The must have bomber jacket
I usually steer away from anything cropped or short in length as I tend to find them quite exposing; however, as I slipped on this silky bomber, I instantly fell in love. I feel cocooned in its softness and adore the shade of green. I paired it with the iconic branded hoodie and baggy jeans. A look I would wear walking around the park on a sunny autumnal afternoon or grabbing coffee with friends.
The only winter coat you need
Every year I buy a new coat. I certainly am not short of coats but can’t avoid wanting a new one when I see the collections dropping into stores. Safe to say I’ve found this year’s purchase. This wool blend coat was an instant favourite. It’s got a slightly oversized feel to it and is the type that would look equally good worn over a power suit as it would be worn casually over their ponte pants and baseball cap, as I’ve done here. It’s the kind of coat I will wear on repeat in the winter months, so for me it’s worth every penny.
The comfy co-ord set that will have you looking put togther
Your autumn wardrobe wouldn't be complete without a few lashings of burgundy. These cargo-style utility trousers are a great addition. They’re a lot more flexible than I thought they would be, and they have adjustable poppers at the ankle so you can taper to how you wish, either creating a soft or extreme barrel shape. Paired with this super soft funnel neck jumper, that's made from Gap's signature CashSoft, you’ve got an effortlessly chic tonal look.
