Is Ohio State football wide receiver Jeremiah Smith still the frontrunner in this week's Heisman Trophy power rankings?
Smith caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin that gave the Buckeyes the edge over Indiana in a 19-15 victory. Afterward, Sayin left the game due to an injury in the fourth quarter and did not return to play.
Elsewhere in college football, 14 teams in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings lost during Week 7, including five of the top seven teams.
With upsets around the FBS, here's where Smith and Sayin duo rank in the Heisman Trophy contenders list.
The top 10 Heisman Trophy candidates after Week 7
10. Kamario Taylor, Mississippi State QB
Kamario Taylor was injured in Mississippi's blowout loss to LSU. If he plays next week, Taylor can remain among the top 10 with the type of play that powered the Bulldogs through the first half of the season.
9. CJ Carr, Notre Dame QB

The Fighting Irish lost to BYU, but CJ Carr played well enough to stay in the power rankings. Botching a spike that turned into a fumble didn't help, but Carr still has just one interception this season along with 19 total touchdowns.
8. Jayden Maiava, USC

USC quietly climbed to a 6-1 record this week after beating Penn State 31-23. Quarterback Jayden Maiava played a turnover-free game with 301 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win. He is second in the FBS in passing yards and fourth in touchdowns this season.
7. Braiden Atkinson, Oregon State QB

The Oregon State Beavers are overwhelming opponents offensively with quarterback Braden Atkinson at the helm. He leads the FBS in touchdowns and is 559 yards ahead of Maiava in passing yards. The Beavers are on a five-game win streak and are averaging over 40 points per game thanks to Atkinson and his wide receivers.
6. Bear Bachmeier, BYU QB

Bear Bachmeier just gave BYU one of the biggest wins in program history, beating Notre Dame at home and lifting the Cougars to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll. He completed 23 of 36 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for two more scores and caught a 15-yard trick play touchdown.
5. Jesse Legree, Oregon State WR

Oregon State's Jesse Legree became the first wide receiver in the FBS to top 1,000 receiving yards this season, beating Ohio State's Smith to the benchmark. Of his 108 yards against Washington State, 90 came on one touchdown play, but he still racked up eight receptions.
4. Malachi Toney, Miami WR

Is this the year of a non-quarterback Heisman ballot? Miami's Malachi Toney lands in the top five after another monster week in a win against Florida State with 11 catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns against Florida State.
3. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss QB

Trinidad Chambliss accounted for four touchdowns while throwing for 241 yards as Ole Miss handled No. 22 Missouri. After losing to Florida, the Rebels have bounced back with two straight blowout wins ahead of a Saturday night showdown against Arch Manning and Texas.
2. Darian Mensah, Miami QB

The Hurricanes had a scare when facing in-state rival Florida State last week, but prevailed in overtime. Darian Mensah threw his first interception of the season and his accuracy was down, but he still completed 23 of 34 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns. He has shrunk the gap between himself and Smith by leading Miami to a 6-0 start.
1. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State WR
Smith remains in the lead for the Heisman, but he also lost his quarterback to injury. Smith will likely have to build chemistry with backup Luke Fahey, who entered the Ohio State-Indiana game after Sayin's exit.
Smith had a season-low 65 yards against the Hoosiers, but caught a 38-yard game-winning touchdown pass. He leads the FBS in receptions (52) and is second to Legree in yards (984) and touchdowns (12).
Off the list: Julian Sayin, Ohio State quarterback

Sayin threw two interceptions before leaving the Ohio State-Indiana game and returning to the sideline in a sling. His timeline to return is uncertain. If he is out for "weeks" like Ohio State coach Ryan Day suggested, his odds of winning the Heisman are slim.
