Seok-hwan, an unemployed young man, witnesses Cha Ye-rin, a high school girl living next door, being threatened by villains tied to a criminal gang. He is killed while trying to save her. Three days later, however, Seok-hwan comes back to life without a scratch. Armed with the power to resurrect three days after every death, he sets out to protect Ye-rin and wage a life-or-death fight against the gang and the vast evil behind it.
The series is a fantasy action webtoon that anchors "Super String," a sprawling shared universe devised by content studio Y-Lab. It was adapted into a live-action film titled "Resurrection Man: The Red," which opened in theaters last month. The hero's willingness to die in battle, paired with the risk created by his three-day wait to revive, lends the story intricate strategy and sustained tension.
